SUMMARY:BERLIN BERLIN
DESCRIPTION:Berlin between the 1920s and 1930s is a city full of contrasts and a dance on the edge of a volcano! A wild celebration of culture like nothing known before\, threatened by the abyss to come. \nBERLIN BERLIN takes you to the dazzling Babylon era of one of the most vibrant and show-stopping cities of the time. In between World War I and II and amidst culturalicons the like of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis\, Kurt Weil and Berthold Brecht’s Threepenny Opera\,  Marlene Dietrich\, Josephine Baker … this is the time and place when woman start wearing pants\, conquering stage and society. A period of wild freedom\, yet with a growing sense of uncertainty\, as economic crisis and fascism lurked beneath the surface. \nBERLIN BERLIN is a journey and a play revisiting the German zeitgeist\, characters and songs of this era- no holds barred! \nDuration: 1 h 30 m without an interval \n\n\nCAST / MEDVIRKENDE\n\nJana Pulkrabek\nTina Robinson\nVanessa Poole\nKatrin Weisser\nJoan Bentsen\nIsabel Escudero Zorde\nAlun Thomas \n\n\n\n\nDirector: Alexandra Christensen\n\n\n\nPlaywright: Jana Pulkrabek \nProduced by: HIT International Theatre Arts / Move the North

SUMMARY:Vocal Performance - Do you see what I’m singing?
DESCRIPTION:This is a vocal performance that invites the audience to dissolve into a multisensory experience and explore the connection between Danish and Irish vocal traditions. \nAccording to Danish mythology\, Odin gained wisdom\, poetry\, and magic by sacrificing one of his eyes. In Ireland\, there is a long tradition of wisdom and otherworldly insight embodied by the blind seer. Blind musicians such as Turlough O’Carolan and bards like Antoine Ó Raifteiri captured the sounds\, stories\, and rhythms of life around them in haunting music and poetry that still resonate today. \nIn this performance\, the audience is invited to soften the dominance of sight and open themselves to the gifts that can emerge through a deeper connection to hearing—inner resonance\, imagination—and touch. Blindfolds will be available to support this sensory exploration. \nThe performance is created through an international collaboration between singer-songwriters Emilie Conway and Sussie Luscinia Nielsen\, sound artist David Navndrup Black\, and dancers from the FIMD group Dråbe. \nThe performance will be in Danish\, English\, and Gaelic. \nDuration: 40 minutes \nThe venue is wheelchair accessible.
