DESCRIPTION:From 1 July to 31 December 2026\, Ireland holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and is marking the occasion with one of the most ambitious Irish cultural programmes in history. \nCultúr 2026: Sharing Ireland’s Culture brings more than 400 artistic projects to Ireland and all 27 EU member states\, supported by a €6.5 million government investment. The programme spans every artform – music\, theatre\, visual art\, literature\, film\, dance and the Irish language – with events being announced on a rolling basis throughout the Presidency. \nDenmark is a particular focus: as part of the Presidency’s community partnership programme\, Ireland’s Embassy network is delivering cultural events across Europe\, and Irish cultural events will be coming to Denmark for the duration of the Presidency. \nKeep an eye on http://irelandculture2026.eu and the Irish Embassy in Copenhagen for events and watch this page\, as ICAD will be listing confirmed Danish events as they are announced.

DESCRIPTION:After a high-octane concert in autumn 2025\, The Scratch return to Pumpehuset with their distinctive and festive blend of Irish folk music and metal. \nThe Scratch began as a project between friends in Dublin\, but after a viral video from the Rory Gallagher Festival in 2017\, it quickly grew into something much bigger. Since then\, they have made a strong mark with the album Mind Yourself (2023)\, which reached #1 on the Irish vinyl chart and #3 on the official album chart. The album was nominated for Irish Album of the Year at the Choice Music Prize\, and the band has since received attention from BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6\, as well as appearing on The Late Late Show. \nIn recent years\, they’ve been constantly on the move: touring the US with Dropkick Murphys\, playing festivals across Europe\, heading to Australia with Dermot Kennedy\, and taking the stage at Download Festival in the UK. At the same time\, their music has made its way into the Netflix series House of Guinness. \nWith their third album Pull Like A Dog\, set for release on March 6\, 2026\, the band brings together threads from their earlier work while pushing their sound forward. The title comes from a quote about closing your eyes and fully committing—an approach that also defines the band itself. As they put it\, it’s all about “sending it” and seeing what happens. \nThe Scratch are known for concerts that sweep the audience up from the very first second\, with energy\, presence\, and a strong sense of community at the core. Samtidig udgav de debutalbummet “Reverie”\, som gik direkte ind som det bedst sælgende album i Irland og blev årets mest streamede album på Spotify i hjemlandet. Udgivelsen blev hyldet af medier som NPR\, Rolling Stone og Stereogum og cementerede Amble som et af de stærkeste nye navne inden for moderne folkmusik. \nSange som “Lonely Island”\, “Mary’s Pub” og “Schoolyard Days” har været med til at opbygge bandets hurtigt voksende fanbase verden over\, mens nyere singler som “Moral Victory” og “The Rarest Hour” viser en mere eftertænksom og poetisk side af trioen. \nTickets here
