SUMMARY:Glass Ceiling – A Play about Diversity and Power
DESCRIPTION:Glass Ceiling by Fergal O’Byrne\n \nWHAT and WHY\nGlass Ceiling is a play focusing on gender inequality in business. We are in 2026\, yet the play’s theme is highly relevant. Only 7 % of European Fortune 500 have female CEOs and less than 20% of Danish companies\, with more than 50 employees\, have women on their boards.  \nThrough thought-provoking narrative\, the play shines a light on important structural and cultural barriers that unfortunately still exist in management.  \nThe intimate staging creates an intense\, and at times humorous\, experience where the audience become witnesses to the drama up close to the actors. \nPLOT SUMMARY\nChairman\, Mason\, leads a traditional male-dominated company. He is interviewing Samantha\, who is applying for the position of CEO. Behind closed doors an intense power-play unfolds in a story that raises important questions about leadership\, gender\, and morality. The play is based on the author’s own experiences as a former CEO and Chair of technology companies\, ensuring both authenticity and a nuanced treatment of the themes. \nThe play is returning after a successful run in 2025\, due to high demand for tickets from schools and business networks. The play is unique in that it offer a Q&A after the performances with a the writer\, director\, actors and producer. \nThe Team \nThis run of Glass Ceiling brings back together an experienced team: Irish writer Fergal O’Byrne and English director Barry McKenna with the Danes\, Claus Bue and Maja Muhlack. Her music video for “You Don’t Hear It (Do You?)” was also featured among the best music videos of 2024.Still\, the EP only offers a glimpse of what you can expect from her live performances. Released in October 2024\, it was followed by a tour across Germany\, Denmark\, Sweden\, and Norway in the winter of 2025. \nRooted in old-school R&B and improvisation\, her live shows are characterised by a soulful expression with warm harmonies\, while also exploring rap elements and groove-based riffs. Scenekunstner Madeleine Kate McGowan har inviteret en række komponister til at skabe sange\, der giver planterne stemme og gør dem nærværende gennem musik\, tekst og fælles sang. \nDu er inviteret til en kollektiv stemmeleg\, hvor nye fællessange og traditioner kan slå rod. I en tid\, hvor vi må genopfinde vores måder at være sammen på\, undersøger Planting Songs\, hvordan sang kan blive en sanselig og kropslig måde at lære\, huske og forbinde sig til verden på. \nHver sang bærer viden om en bestemt lokal plante – dens egenskaber\, livsformer og relationer. Når vi synger planterne\, lagres denne viden i kroppen. DESCRIPTION:Folk Friends\nForrygende flot og venskabelig folkemusik fra den vestjyske muld – med et kærligt blik mod Irland\nMed rødderne solidt plantet i den vestjyske muld har folkemusik-veteranerne i Folk Friends gennem mere end en menneskealder leveret god musik og godt humør. \nKærligheden til den irske folkemusik skinner tydeligt igennem\, når trioen går på scenen\, men som årene er gået\, er der kommet flere og flere danske sange med. \nSvend Erik Larsen er i forgrunden\, med sit sprudlende humør\, sin guitar og en masse gode sange i bagagen. Han har selv skrevet og oversat mange sange og disse er blevet en naturlig del af Folk Friends´ program. \nLyder Horsted er manden\, som lægger en solid og sikker bund i orkestrets lyd med sin elbas. Sammen med Svend Erik Larsen har han set de fleste spillesteder i Danmark indefra. De to er gode\, gamle venner og har de inviteret endnu en erfaren musiker med i vennekredsen. \nBent Skourup er en legende på folkemusik-scenen\, hvor han blandt andre har spillet med La Porta Band\, Bayous\, Carsten Kjær og Thomas Kjellerup. I Folk Friends bidrager han til et nyt og opdateret lydbillede med guitar\, violin og flerstemmigt kor. \nAftenen vil bringe godt humør\, gode historier og skøn musik til såvel det lyttende som det medsyngende publikum. DESCRIPTION:This is a vocal performance that invites the audience to dissolve into a multisensory experience and explore the connection between Danish and Irish vocal traditions. \nAccording to Danish mythology\, Odin gained wisdom\, poetry\, and magic by sacrificing one of his eyes. In Ireland\, there is a long tradition of wisdom and otherworldly insight embodied by the blind seer. Blind musicians such as Turlough O’Carolan and bards like Antoine Ó Raifteiri captured the sounds\, stories\, and rhythms of life around them in haunting music and poetry that still resonate today. \nIn this performance\, the audience is invited to soften the dominance of sight and open themselves to the gifts that can emerge through a deeper connection to hearing—inner resonance\, imagination—and touch. Blindfolds will be available to support this sensory exploration. \nThe performance is created through an international collaboration between singer-songwriters Emilie Conway and Sussie Luscinia Nielsen\, sound artist David Navndrup Black\, and dancers from the FIMD group Dråbe. \nThe performance will be in Danish\, English\, and Gaelic. \nDuration: 40 minutes \nThe venue is wheelchair accessible.
