DESCRIPTION:I 2025 fejrer Tradish 15 års jubilæum. I gennem disse år har Tradish optrådt på hundredvis af scener på tværs af Europa. Bandet har mødt og genset et publikum\, der værdsætter den åbne og personlige tilgang til den traditionelle irske musik\, som kend etegner bandet . Som en del af den levende irske musiktradition\, spiller Tradish sig ind i en spændende og livsbekræftende blanding af det gamle og det nye\, fortid og nutid\, med en stærk forankring og respekt for rødderne. \nTradish er:\nJohn Pilkington: vok al\, guitar\, bouzouki\nLouise Ring Vangsgaard: violin\, viola \, vokal\nBrian Woetmann: bodhrán\, percussion mandolin vokal \, step \nDet sidste album Handmade tales er en samling af 15 håndlavede numre udført på hån dlavede akustiske instrumenter 15 fortællinger med hver sin historie. Det er et destillat af bandets helt specielle lyd\, hvor deres egne kompositioner tilføres den irske traditionelle musik. Handmade tales er et snapshot af\, hvordan bandets karakteristiske lyd har udviklet sig gennem mange års sammenspil: lyden af 3 stemmer og 6 hænder\, som spiller på instrumenter håndbygget af træ\, strenge og gedeskind. \nTraditionel irsk musik har gennem de sidste 200 år vokset sig til et kraftfuldt træ med forgreninger\, knopskud og spirer over hele verden. Nu er den et globalt fænomen som står i fuldt flor. Det forrige album Roots & Shoots tager os lyttere med på en rejse\, hvor brændstoffet og inspirationen er hentet fra træets rødder og fra betrag tninger af folks liv her og nu. Roots & Shoots h østede begejstrede anmeldelser tværs over Europa og Tradish blev valgt som ét af 10 bands til at repræsentere Danmark i musikeksport projektet “Danish Roots Growing in the World”. \nI forbindelse med 3 turnéer til Grønland har de ladet sig inspirere af den grønlandske sang tradition.\nSangen ” Nuilersup Qilaap Seequinersuata blev således en fast del af koncertrepertoi ret og er at finde på Handmade tales I løbet af de sidste 5 år har Tradish i en koncertrække optrådt med danseren Gunilla Odsbøl\, som er Europamester i irsk s tep. Gunillas fødder kan høres på et af pladens dansenumre.\nMed udgivelsen af Handmade tales\, fortsætter Tradish med koncerter\, festivaler og workshops både ind og udland. \nPladser og billetter\nKoncerten starter kl. 20:00 men du kan starte din irske aften allerede fra kl. 18:00\, når kokken serverer Irish Stew.\nNummererede pladser ved bordene koster 375 kr. inkl. gebyrer og bemandet garderobe\, og inkluderer Irish Stew\, som serveres i salen kl. 18:00\, og nydes ved bordene. DESCRIPTION:Hiphopfænomenet Kneecap indtager VEGA\n \nPå få år har Kneecap skabt enorm international opmærksomhed med deres unikke blanding af syleskarp hiphop\, det irske sprog og politisk aktivisme. Den 3. og 4. september 2025 kan den omtalte trio opleves live i Store VEGA. \nKneecap\, som består af de to rappere Mo Chara og Móglaí Bap samt DJ Próvaí\, er en af tidens mest omtalte rapgrupper. \nMed deres bramfri stil og sproglige sammensmeltning af irsk og engelsk har de sat ild til både dansegulve og debatter verden over. Dette kom til udtryk ved NorthSide Festival i Aarhus tidligere på sommeren\, hvor trioen leverede en energisk og kompromisløs koncert\, der fik publikum til at koge under teltdugen. Soundvenue kvitterede med 5 ud af 6 stjerner og kaldte koncerten for “en euforisk forløsning”. \nTidligere i år udgav Belfast-gruppen det roste album Fine Art\, produceret af Toddla T og med gæsteoptrædener fra blandt andre Grian Chatten og Radie Peat. Albummet udspiller sig som en hæsblæsende nat i og omkring den fiktive pub The Rutz og kombinerer humor\, hedonisme og hverdagsrealisme med lige dele satire og samfundskritik. \nKneecaps musik er både rasende\, modig\, humoristisk og dybt forankret i nutidens Nordirland – med en gennemslagskraft\, der rækker langt ud over Belfasts grænser. De har markeret sig som et af Europas mest kompromisløse og medrivende liveacts\, og danske fans kan nu se frem til at opleve gruppen live hen over to aftener i Store VEGA til september.

Widely regarded as the greatest book ever written it is funny\, frustrating\, impenetrable\, obtuse\, obscure\, muti-layered … and that’s just chapter one. \nResident Copenhagen writer Fergal O’Byrne (@fergalobyrne) will be reading some extracts from the book and discussing some background to the story and even tips on how to read it. There is also a fun quiz with maestro Pat Sheridan. \nThe event is intended to be informal and no knowledge of the book or Joyce is needed. The goal is to intrigue you enough that you may dip in and read it yourself someday. Anyone who wants to read or add their own twopence worth or wisdom about Joyce are more than welcome. A few actor types may even pop by to do a bit of improv reading.

DESCRIPTION:Everything Soft Slowly Turned to Bone\nThere is a moment when something crumbles\, when what was once pliable—soft\, yielding—hardens\ninto something else entirely. A ruin is never just a ruin; it is a record of movement\, of shifting ground\,\nof the slow work of erosion. This is the terrain Jane Hughes navigates. \nThis summer\, The North Atlantic Lighthouse presents Everything Soft Slowly Turned to Bone\, the first\nexhibition of Hughes’s work in Denmark. Her paintings hold the quiet evidence of change\, of\nlandscapes dissolving and reforming\, of memories slipping into something less tangible. She is a\ncollector of traces: faded photographs\, fragments of rock\, the skeletal remains of places that were\nonce whole.\nThere are images here—ruins\, tide-worn cliffs\, moss creeping over stone—but they do not settle. They\nshift\, blur\, dissolve into abstraction before reforming again. Hughes is interested in what lingers. The\nholy wells\, the forgotten forests\, the islands that once held whole civilizations and now hold only the\nweight of their ghosts. She is drawn to fossils\, to the way they surface unexpectedly\, offering proof\nthat something once existed. The arching forms that appear throughout her paintings are borrowed\nfrom fossils she found on the Aran Islands\, remnants of prehistoric creatures embedded in rock. They\ndrift from one painting to another like echoes\, like the memory of an outline.\nHughes works with paint the way an archaeologist works with earth—layer by layer\, uncovering\nsomething just beneath the surface. She pieces her paintings together like a puzzle where half the\npieces are missing\, constructing something whole from fragments. She is interested in deep time\, in\nthe vast stretch of history that came before us\, in the belief systems and rituals that shaped those who\nwalked these landscapes long before we did.\nAnd yet\, her paintings do not feel like relics. There is movement here\, a pulse beneath the surface.\nThere is color—not the washed-out tones of nostalgia but something richer\, something insistent.\nHughes does not recreate the past; she moves through it\, dissolving borders between memory and\ngeography\, between belonging and distance.\nAbout The Artist\nJane Hughes (b. 1984\, Ireland) lives and works in Finland\, though before that\, she spent more than a\ndecade in Berlin. She is a painter\, though her practice expands into drawing\, sculpture\, and\ninstallation. Always\, she is looking for what remains.\nShe has exhibited internationally since 2005\, beginning with a group exhibition in the Netherlands\nwhile still a student. Recent solo exhibitions include We Gulp Dark Moons (Galleria Napa\, Finland\,\n2024)\, These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins (TM•Gallery\, Helsinki\, 2023)\, and\nArchitecture of Emotions (Custom House Studios\, Ireland\, 2018). Her work has been shown in group\nexhibitions in museums and galleries in Ireland\, Germany\, Sweden\, France\, Latvia\, Russia\, and beyond.\nShe has undertaken residencies at places that hold histories of their own—Tyrone Guthrie Centre (Co.\nMonaghan\, Ireland\, 2022)\, Áras Éanna Arts Centre (Inis Oírr\, Ireland\, 2021)\, and Stundars Museum\n(Finland\, 2015). Raised among the mountains of Connemara on Ireland’s west coast and now based in Dublin\, she paints picturesque landscapes in her music: a meeting of hushed\, hypnotic vocals and nostalgic\, floating guitar tones. Her enchanting\, misty pop is the perfect soundtrack for our inner melancholy — and our daydreams. \nMaria Somerville visits ALICE just days after the release of her second album\, ‘Luster’\, out on April 25 via indie label 4AD. The shoegazy\, minimalist\, and dreamlike sound of her acclaimed debut\, ‘All My People’\, has been described as “a work of immense precision and subtlety” and “a beautiful concoction of dream pop goodness.” We’ve already had a taste of its successor. From the single “Garden” the upcoming album sounds very promising. It’s bound to be a magical night at ALICE! \nMolina\nMolina also paints landscapes through her music. With a couple of seasoned session musicians at the helm\, the stage is set for playing tunes and singing songs from the Emerald Isle all night long.
