The Irish singer, songwriter, and guitarist Glen Hansard is a guest at Studio 2. For more than three decades, he has been a prominent figure on the international music scene as frontman of The Frames, with The Swell Season, and as a solo artist. Hansard broke through as frontman of the Irish band The Frames and later achieved international recognition with The Swell Season, his duo with Markéta Irglová. Together they received an Oscar for “Falling Slowly” from the film Once (2007), which later became the award-winning Broadway musical of the same name.

Alongside his work with The Frames and The Swell Season, Hansard has built an extensive solo career with a string of critically acclaimed releases. Over the years he has collaborated with the likes of Joni Mitchell, Eddie Vedder, Bono, and Damien Rice, establishing himself as one of Ireland’s most celebrated songwriters.

Hansard currently has a new album out, Don’t Settle – Transmissions East & West, a project released in two parts. The first volume is out now.
