Ireland’s EU Presidency – Cultúr 2026: Sharing Ireland’s Culture
From 1 July to 31 December 2026, Ireland holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and is marking the occasion with one of the most ambitious Irish cultural programmes in history.
Cultúr 2026: Sharing Ireland’s Culture brings more than 400 artistic projects to Ireland and all 27 EU member states, supported by a €6.5 million government investment. The programme spans every artform – music, theatre, visual art, literature, film, dance and the Irish language – with events being announced on a rolling basis throughout the Presidency.
Denmark is a particular focus: as part of the Presidency’s community partnership programme, Ireland’s Embassy network is delivering cultural events across Europe, and Irish cultural events will be coming to Denmark for the duration of the Presidency.
Keep an eye on http://irelandculture2026.eu and the Irish Embassy in Copenhagen for events and watch this page, as ICAD will be listing confirmed Danish events as they are announced.
