In between World War I and II and amidst culturalicons the like of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, Kurt Weil and Berthold Brecht’s Threepenny Opera,  Marlene Dietrich, Josephine Baker … this is the time and place when woman start wearing pants, conquering stage and society. A period of wild freedom, yet with a growing sense of uncertainty, as economic crisis and fascism lurked beneath the surface.
